How to choose a Sweet 16 venue: what to ask on a tour
- What is the capacity for the room you would use? Ask for the number in writing and whether it is seated or standing.
- Which hours are included and when must music stop? Ask about the rental length, the end time and any noise rule.
- What is the policy on supervision, security and guests under 21? Ask how the venue handles a party for teenagers, including the bar.
- Is there a stage, a dance floor and a sound system? Ask whether the DJ equipment and lighting are included or must be brought in.
- Is food included, or can you bring your own? Ask about catering choices and any fee for outside vendors.
- What are the deposit and cancellation terms? Read them in the contract before you pay.
These are questions to ask, not facts about any one venue.
