How to choose a corporate event venue: what to ask on a tour

  1. What audio, video and Wi-Fi does the venue provide? Ask what is included, what costs extra and who helps if something fails.
  2. How many people does the room hold for your format? Ask for separate numbers for a seated dinner, a standing reception and a presentation.
  3. Is catering in-house, optional or required? Ask about menus, dietary needs and whether outside caterers are allowed.
  4. What hours can you access the room for setup and teardown? Ask about load-in, early access and the end time.
  5. How are payment and invoicing handled? Ask about the deposit, the cancellation terms and how a company can be invoiced.
  6. Where do guests park, and is the building accessible? Ask about parking, signage and access for guests with limited mobility.

These are questions to ask, not facts about any one venue.
