Quote checklist
Tick a topic when your quote states it clearly, with an amount or a rule you can point to.

What to look for
Rental, hours, tables, chairs and linens, setup and cleanup, staff, catering, bar, DJ or MC, decor and cake cutting. Each one should read as included, not included or priced separately. -
What to look for
Divide the total by your guest count, once with tax and service charge and once without, using only lines the quote states. This is your own arithmetic, not a judgment about the venue. -

The rate of each charge, what it applies to, and whether gratuity is on top of a service charge. -

Whether a tax rate is stated, and which lines it applies to. -

Ten questions to ask any venue
These are the questions behind the checklist. Each one belongs to a topic above.
- What exactly is included in this quote, and what is not? Please list it in writing.
- What is the total for my date and guest count with every fee, service charge, gratuity and tax included?
- How many hours does the quote cover, including setup and cleanup, and what is the overtime rate?
- Is there a room or food and beverage minimum, and what counts toward it?
- How much is needed to reserve the date, is any of it refundable, and what does it apply to?
- When is each payment due, including the final balance, and which payment methods and card fees apply?
- What are the cancellation and date-change terms, and by what dates?
- Are any vendors required, and are there fees for outside vendors, outside alcohol, a cake or insurance certificates?
- Is event insurance required, and is there a damage or security deposit? When and how is it returned?
- What happens to the price if my guest count changes after I sign?
